Empowering Students and Faculty through H5P
Submitted by Alison Frauts
What challenge, problem or motivation inspired you to make one small change?
H5P is a tool that has inspired me to try something new that faculty and students can use in the classroom. As an Instructional Designer, I wanted to help faculty become familiar and feel confident in using this tool.
Tell us about your one small change:
My coworker showed me many different options in H5P and taught me some tricks for using the tool. I also played around with it and learned how to use it on my own to build up confidence on creating amazing things that make learning more interactive and fun.
What was the result of your one small change?
I created a lot of drag and drop activities for faculty to use in their classrooms. I like drag and drop because it’s interactive for students when doing activities whether it’s on their own or doing it together with a partner or as a class. This semester, I worked closely with the dental program to create activities for their blended courses and liked the variety of activities we created for them. I also got to learn a lot about tongue diseases and oral health as I created the activities.
