Communities of Practice are spaces to gather and discuss common interest topics. We currently have several active Communities of Practice at Cambrian with different ways to participate. Membership is flexible and open, allowing different individuals to participate in meetings and activities based on their availability. All Cambrian faculty, staff, and admin are welcome to join!

Trauma-Informed Teaching Community of Practice
(CARE-O CoP) đźŚ
This community aims to equip all staff and educators with the knowledge and skills to recognize and address the impacts of trauma on our students, our colleagues, and ourselves promoting holistic well-being and academic success without having to be an expert in trauma. Through collaborative learning and shared experiences, members will develop strategies to create inclusive and empathetic working and learning spaces.
Learning Objectives/Goals
- Understand the principles and practices of trauma-informed pedagogy and pedagogies of care.
- Implement pedagogies of care to support students, colleagues, and our own personal mental health and well-being.
- Foster classroom and working environments that are inclusive, safe, and supportive for all students.
- Share and reflect on best practices and experiences with fellow members to continuously improve our college culture and teaching strategies.
