Ergonomic Furniture
This accommodation is provided when a student requires ergonomic furniture in the classroom or lab.
Any ergonomic furniture such as chairs or sit/stand workstations are the property of the GCC and are reserved solely for students registered with the GCC.
Faculty Responsibility
- When you receive an accommodation letter, reach out to the student via email to invite a discussion about how you can support their learning.
- To support this accommodation, the student will use the furniture assigned in the accommodation:

- Ergonomic chairs are the most common furniture provided. This reserved chair is locked in the classroom and the student has the key for access.
- Sit/stand workstations are reserved for the accommodated student.
- The accommodated student may require some advocating assistance should it be observed that another student is utilizing the equipment.
Student Responsibility
- It is the student’s responsibility to request this furniture from the GCC.
- The student will have a key to unlock the chair and must lock it up at the end of class.
