Harness AI for Effective Course Material Development: A Hands-On Workshop

November 30, 2023 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Join Nathan Abourbih, Professor and Program Coordinator of Business and Information Technology for a one-hour, hands-on workshop where we will explore the art of prompt engineering using Bing Chat Enterprise (Powered by ChatGPT), available to us as part of our Microsoft faculty license. Bring your laptop and all the files for one of the lessons you are currently teaching, and learn how to use AI to craft a variety of course materials, such as:

  • Syllabi
  • Lesson plans
  • Active learning activities
  • Assessment questions
  • Presentation slides
  • Lecture notes
  • Discussion questions

We will also explore ways you can use this tool to find additional resources and effectively organize your educational content.

Having used AI technologies for nearly two years in his course preparation, Nathan is eager to share what he has learned. He hopes you will leave this workshop with new knowledge and hands-on experience that will enable you to leverage AI to save time on manual tasks and focus more on your areas of expertise.

This session is FLEX: join in-person in the Hub Classroom or virtually on Zoom. The session will be 60 minutes with another 30 reserved for discussion, questions, and time to continue using GenAI tools.

This is also the second of five sessions focused on Artificial Intelligence and Academic Integrity that will be happening in 2023-24 and is part of our Next Level Badging.  Join in three of the five sessions and earn the AI + AI Badge.

Registrations are now closed for this event. Contact the Hub team if you still wish to join: teaching@cambriancollege.ca.
