Session 1: Classroom Assessment and Wellness
Assessment and wellness are not a common pairing; however, more modern notions of assessment promote a more holistic view of learning where emotion and wellbeing are integral. This initial session is designed to focus on assessment that takes place within a classroom setting. The session begins with a keynote from Dr. Donald on Indigenous perspectives in relation to classroom assessment and wellbeing. The interactions in this session, keynote, presentations, and student posters are designed to foster an appreciation of Indigenous perspectives in relation to equity, assessment, and evaluation.
- Keynote “Assessment and the struggle to become a real human being”: Dwayne Donald (University of Alberta)
- Presentation 1 Classroom Assessment: Christopher DeLuca (Queen’s University), Lorna Earl (Founding Member, Canadian Assessment for Learning Network)
- Presentation 2 Wellness & Assessment: Lia Daniels (University of Alberta)
