In this interactive one-hour workshop, participants will explore how to write meaningful alt text that communicates purpose, context, and intent across a variety of digital content. Through practical examples and hands-on exercises, we’ll examine images, graphs, tables, charts, and other visual content while exploring how thoughtful descriptions can improve accessibility and understanding.

Together, we’ll explore how context changes what “good” alt text looks like, why technically correct descriptions are not always helpful, and how thoughtful alt text can improve accessibility for screen reader users and others accessing digital content in different ways.
