About Learning Journeys 2025

For additional information, explore our Learning Journeys landing page.

The TEACH Committee and Teaching & Learning Innovation Hub invite you to join us for Learning Journeys 2025—an event to celebrate successes, share ideas, and explore innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

There are several of ways to get involved: deliver a fast-paced lightning talk ⚡, lead an interactive micro-workshop 🛠️, or attend the event to connect with your peers . Stay tuned for more ways to share your best quick tips & tricks!

Session Formats

Participate in the Showcase by presenting a Lightning Talk or Micro-workshop:

  • ⚡ Lightning Talk (10 minutes) – Take centre stage and deliver a 10-minute talk (followed by a brief Q&A) showcasing a creative classroom strategy, engaging activity, innovative assessment, creative use of EdTech/AI, or research-backed approach that has enhanced student learning. Whether it’s a quick win, a fresh perspective, or an exciting experiment, share something that worked for you!
  • 🛠️ Micro-workshop (30 minutes) – Have a great teaching idea that works best when people experience it firsthand? A workshop is your chance to get participants actively involved. Whether it’s an engaging teaching technique, practical use fo an EdTech tool, or a creative classroom experiment, you’ll guide the audience through an active learning experience that helps them see its impact in real time.

Session Topics

We encourage presenters to think creatively and propose sessions that reflect successful practices, insightful research, and practical applications of teaching and learning at Cambrian. Below is a list of sample topics to inspire your proposals:

  • Innovative Teaching Practices – demonstrate new ways to engage students and enhance the learning experience.
  • Educational Technologies – showcase the use of tools like Moodle, Padlet, Nearpod, GenAI, etc. in creating interactive and engaging learning environments.
  • Authentic Assessment Strategies – share methods for assessing student learning that are relevant, creative, and applicable to real-world scenarios.
  • Educational Research – share your latest research topic or findings and how they can be applied to teaching.
  • Partnerships and Collaborative Projects – highlight collaborative efforts with students, industry or community partners that enrich the educational experience.
