Zoom has tools built to allow trimming the beginning and end of cloud recordings. Cloud recordings can also be downloaded and edited locally using video editing software on your own computer.
Cloud Recordings (Step by Step Guide)
Step 1
Navigate to Cambrian College Zoom Sign-in and sign in with your Cambrian College credentials
Step 2
Select Recordings from the list on the left
Step 3
Select the recording you wish to edit
Step 4
Select the view you wish to edit. When in doubt, Shared screen with speaker view is a safe choice
Step 5
Select the Scissors tool
Step 6
Position the Playback start handle where you want the video to start. You can use the arrows on the handle to advance one second at a time, or you can drag it to where you want using the mouse
Step 7
Position the Playback end handle where you want the video to end. You can use the arrows on the handle to advance one second at a time, or you can drag it to where you want using the mouse
Step 8
Using the Scissor tool, you can add sections of specific trims and remove them as needed. This is especially helpful for breaks between discussions that are not needed within the recording.
Step 9
Select Save to save your edits
Offline Editing (Step by Step Guide)
Step 1
Navigate to Cambrian College Zoom Sign-in and sign in with you SF State credentials
Step 2
Select Recordings from the list on the left
Step 3
Select the recording you wish to edit
Step 4
Select the view you wish to edit. When in doubt, Shared screen with speaker view is a safe choice
Step 5
Select the Download link
Step 6
Import the video into your video editing software and perform your edits
Step 7 (Optional)
If the video is intended for a class, use iLearn video to upload the video to your iLearn class
