DESCRIPTION:Ideas in Action – A Student Learning Exchange & Showcase is a student conference that celebrates student learning\, applied research\, and creative projects from across Cambrian College. Students showcase their work through posters and presentations\, sharing how they are putting ideas into action through coursework\, research\, projects\, and experiential learning. \n\nWhile the conference centres student voices and experiences\, it is also a valuable opportunity for faculty and staff to engage with student work\, explore teaching and learning practices\, and participate in conversations that support teaching excellence and student success. \nAdditional conference information\, resources\, and support materials are available on the Ideas in Action web page.

DESCRIPTION:Have you ever considered co-creating an assessment with your student’s to increase their investment and integrity in their own evaluation? \nJoin with Laura Killam\, Faculty in the School of Nursing as she unpacks and explores with us her practices in co-creation.  Co-Creation means shared decision-making. It involves interaction with the goal of empowering learners to have agency over components of curricula\, course content\, planning and/or assessment. Engage with Laura in a round table discussion to discuss the feasibility and appropriateness of co-creation in higher education. The goal of this discussion is to evaluate potential strategies for sharing power with students across different course contexts. \nLearning Outcomes \nBy the end of the session participants will be able to: \n\nCritique how co-creation is used in higher education\nEvaluate principles for guiding equity-centered co-creation\nPlan strategies for integrating co-creation in their context\n\nRegister for this session using the button below!  \n \nThis session is part of our Authentic Assessment Series happening in 2023-24 and is part of our Next Level Badging.  Join us for three Authentic Assessment sessions and earn the Badge.
