Teaching with Cases Workshop

In this half-day morning session, Parvinder Arora, Cambrian’s new Chair of Business will introduce how teaching with cases may enhance active, experiential learning in your courses. Co-facilitator Jenni Hayman will support conversations and dialogue among participants related to relevant cases and provide advice based on the Harvard Business book “Teaching with Cases” by Espen Anderson and Bill Schiano. All participants will receive a digital copy of the book. At the end of the session, participants should be able to:
- Describe the practical preparation required to teach each case-based class successfully
- Search and find relevant cases for their courses and topics
- Give examples of how to design a case-based unit or course
- Describe the facilitation techniques required to effectively lead students in case-based learning
Full-time and contract faculty from any program are welcome to attend. First-come, first-served registration is limited to 40 participants.
Coffee, tea, water, and morning snacks will be provided during the session.
