Open Education: The Good, The Bad, The Unknown

May 31, 2018 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Description

This myth-busting session will address common questions related to Open Education, such as:

  • Why would anybody create something just to give it away for free?
  • Are open educational resources of the same quality as commercial textbooks?
  • Will OER eliminate faculty jobs?

This informal Q&A session will address your questions head-on, without Pollyanna thinking or agenda-pushing.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will be able to discuss the potential benefits, problems, and uncertainties of Open Educational Resources and Open Educational Practices

Note: this session is in-person only. To join our other Open Day sessions remotely, click on the session name in the calendar and then click on the Zoom link at the bottom of the event description.
