DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, December 3 is International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This year’s theme is “amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future”.  We would like to invite your staff\, faculty and students at Cambrian College to join us for a day of events organized by George Brown College and Toronto Metropolitan University. \nHybrid events on December 3rd are at George Brown College’s Waterfront campus first floor atrium (51 Dockside Dr.\, Toronto)\, and online via Zoom. The venue is wheelchair accessible\, and ASL interpretation and captioning are provided for all the events.  \nAt 11:30AM-1PM: service fair with George Brown College and community service providers for people with disabilities. \nAt 1-3PM: keynote address by Dr. Jay Dolmage\, author of Academic Ableism\, followed by a panel of community members sharing experiences of staff and students with disabilities having agency in post-secondary education institutions. DESCRIPTION:Are you an educator seeking a supportive space to critically examine AI surveillance tools? This workshop is for you.   \nIn an era where AI increasingly pervades education\, AI detection and proctoring have sparked significant controversy. These tools\, categorized as academic surveillance software\, algorithmically monitor behaviour and movements. Students are increasingly forced to face them. Together\, we will move beyond surveillance toward a culture of trust and transparency\, shining a light on the black box of surveillance and discussing our findings.   \nIn this two-hour workshop\, we will explore AI detection and proctoring through a 40-minute presentation\, an hour of activities and discussion\, and 20 minutes of group tool evaluation using a rubric.   \nRegister Now!\nThis session will be recorded\, archived\, and made available publicly on BCcampus.ca.
